When I first saw the 2016 Jungle Book movie poster, I was thrilled. It take me back to the time where I first start watching its animated film produced by Walt Disney Productions. That cartoon was made in 1967, and it was inspired by Rudyard Kipling’s book of the same name which was way back in the 19th century.

The story takes place in the deep jungles of India. Its about this young orphan boy named Mowgli. Bagheera, a black panther found him in a basket and promptly takes him to a mother wolf who has just had cubs. She raises him along with her own cubs. Known as “Man Cub” by the jungle, the boy grew and was well adapted with the jungle life and were part of a wolf pack.

He spend most of his time with Bagheera, taking many walks into the jungle. Bagheera, being his mentor and guidance knew that someday, the boy have to return to his own kind.

Mowgli soon met this lazy and fun-loving bear Baloo. They quickly become good friends.

Then one night this wolf tribe gathered, as they learn that a man-eating Bengal tiger name Shere Khan has returned to the jungle. The wolf tribe leader, Akela insist that Mowgli must be taken to the “Man-Village.” The jungle is not safe for him as long as that tiger is around. Bagheera volunteer to send the boy back to the village.

But that young boy is determined to stay in the jungle, no matter how hard Bagheera had try explaining to him. Even Baloo, goes against the idea of taking Mowgli to the Man-Village and decided to raise Mowgli himself.

Those who have watch the old classic knew how this was started. There’s also Jungle Book 2, a continuation after the 1st one. I remember watching the animated movie many times back then. Its really a fun-loving movie for the family. After school I will watch it again and again. Just couldn’t get enough of it! =D

And I’m pretty sure those who love the Jungle Book also watch its first live movie in 1994. Starring Jason Scott Lee as Mowgli.

The story differ somehow. Mowgli was seen as a kid who had a wolf cub as a pet. Been separated and left alone in the jungle, he soon met Bagheera who led him to a place where the wolves stay. After some time, he meet Baloo, where it was just a small bear.

Time pass, and Mowgli was soon a grown man. Well adapted to the life of a jungle. I watch this dozens of times as how I had watch the animated movie. Can’t seem to get enough of it! And not to mention, Mowgli was more like Tarzan. He was more of an animal than a man himself. The story also involves love and romance than just the jungle itself. Do watch it for those who haven’t seen it. You will love this classic!

The latest movie follow as much to the classic 1967. It tells the tales how Mowgli was raised and the danger he had faced. Its really a heart warming tale that can even leave you in tears, especially when the boy was to be separated from the wolf pack, from his family who have adopted him. Cause of that vicious tiger who hates men.

What I like best is the animals were made to talk this time. Just like in the animated movie. They were as real as the originals. Hearing their names been mentioned, the songs they sing, really brings back the memories when I watch its first ever as a cartoon movie. Nostalgic! Every part grips me to the edge of my seat like as if I’m watching an action movie!

Its really a magical tale and a fun-loving family movie. Definitely worth for the kids. If you are a big fan of Jungle Book, this movie is a MUST! Worth watching it!

I won’t deny from what many says that they still prefer the 1994 version, since the animals were real and well-trained. Compare to this one, obviously were CGI and were as close as the real thing. But overall its a hit, and I enjoy every part of it! Sing along with it! For Jungle Book fans, you will be shocked by what this movie has to offer. Unexpected, as what I will say.

So do join in for this bare necessities while you follow Mowgli and his pals for a jungle adventure for a lifetime! =)

“Now I’m the king of the swingers
Oh, the jungle VIP
I’ve reached the top and had to stop
And that’s what botherin’ me
I wanna be a man, mancub
And stroll right into town
And be just like the other men
I’m tired of monkeyin’ around!”
