After our recent visit to that Trick Eye Museum, my girlfriend told me about this Wax Museum. Its called Madame Tussauds. She thinks that there might be one in Singapore. True enough, there’s one after I google it. Its located at Sentosa itself.

Based on the history, its roots dating back to the Paris of 1770 where Marie Tussaud a.k.a Madame Tussaud learnt to model wax likenesses under the tutelage of her mentor, Dr Philippe Curtius.

At the age of 17, she became art tutor to King Louis XVI’s sister at the Palace Of Versailles. During the French Revolution, she was hastily forced to prove her allegiance to the feudalistic nobles by making the death masks of executed aristocrats.

She came to Britain in the early 19th century alongside a travelling exhibition of revolutionary relics and effigies of public heroes and rogues.

Ever since 200 years ago where it was first opened, millions of people have flocked through the doors of Madame Tussauds wax attractions. Today, visitors can now truly get up-close and personal with A-list celebrities. From movie stars, music, sports, political leaders and historical icons, reliving the times, events and moments that made the world talk about them. Those museum-style ropes and poles have gone now.

So I assume back then visitors are not allowed to stand close or touch the attractions, since there’s ropes to prevent such. Now its all taken down so you can get up-close and personal. Feeling like as though they are actual real stars or legends =)

We finally got the chance to visit the place. Also, another glorious day to spend the quality time together. And the fact that me and her had been visiting quite a number of interesting places had remind her of Dora the Explorer. She says that she’s Dora while I’m her companion, Diego.

…..Ok, that’s somehow resemblances pretty much in a way I guess. How cute! =D

Before you can get up-close and personal with your favourite icons and idols, you shall be taken on a tour which takes you back in time where Singapore is a humble fishing village. Here, you can embrace and experience the sights, sounds and smells of those yesteryears. From the time where the country was under the British rule. Then came the Japanese invasion. The harsh, cruel times where our grandparents have gone through. Till the end of it where you will return back to the 21st century.

The ticket also includes The Spirit of Singapore boat ride. Its starts off after you complete the Singapore’s extraordinary history tour. Its a short journey on water where it will take you through a unique and stunningly theme tribute to Singapore’s identity, culture and people. It also includes the Singapore F1 Night Race. The lights were incredibly stunning and indeed, an eye-opener.

And finally, you can get up-close and personal with your favourites. I’m impressed in how they had started of by introducing the country’s unique theme. Starting from the history moment till what it was today. Its a full experience in one whole package. I believe they came out with this since its locally based. Surprise the visitors first hand. Indeed! =)

And the fact that its locally based, the attractions also include local actors and actress, singers, political leaders. So not only you will get to meet US President Obama, you can also get the chance to meet Singapore’s current Prime Minister, Mr Lee Hsien Loong. Even the late founding father and 1st Prime Minister of Singapore, Mr Lee Kuan Yee was there. Seated with his beloved Mrs Lee on a flowery bench.

I let these photos do the rest of the talk =D

Seriously, they look almost so alive! Like their actual counterparts. Imagine walked into the place at night when the museum is closed. Seeing them standing in the dark, and you feel like they are watching you. And sensing that they may have move a limb. The suspense. Just like in that movie, The Night At The Museum.

So if you are a fan of wax, come on down to the one at Sentosa. There’s a booth there where you can make a hand out of wax by using your own hand out of it. So that means you were given an extra hand to bring home =D For ladies, you will sure squeal and fangirling over your favourite idol.

Strike a pose with Michael Jackson. Make a speech with the US President stands beside you. Answered an important call while seated in the Prime Minister’s office. Train up with David Beckham. Feel like a king or queen as you seated on Queen Elizabeth’s throne.

You may not get to meet the actual people. But getting up-close and personal with their counterparts are close enough to feel realistic! =D
