Captain’s log                                Stardate: 65367.4 (Nov 13th, 2011)

My side were finally given time off yesterday the 12th, since they had enough people for a ops round we were assigned to. You never know how relieved and happy we were, especially me, as I finally can attend the cosplay event at AFA. I had missed last year’s and I ain’t gonna miss out for this year! No, never! I was soooo looking forward into it. Damn, I was so damn anxious, worried for the results whether my team can be given time off since there’s enough officers for the assignment. If we are in, then my heart will sank and I’ll be goner and I have to wait for another year. But finally…Hooray!!

I was so thrilled into it. So enthusiastic! So excited that I forgotten to bring my golden arm locks that comes together with the Dragon shield for my Power Ranger. I realized this when me and my group were changing.

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW CAN I FORGOT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR MY RED DRAGON RANGER!!! This leaves me, should I just remain wearing the shield without the locks? Cause I recall, in one of the episodes from the classic Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Green Ranger Tommy had pass on his Dragon powers to the Red Ranger Jason for the first time, seeing that he needs that extra protection to retrieve a very important object for the sake of the team. I notice that only the shield was been transfer to him, but not the arm locks. So I was wondering, should I followed like in that episode? I was told to just continue wearing it. But then again, it wouldn’t look so right without the locks. Of course, members of public wouldn’t notice any difference. Unless you’re talking those hardcore fans of Power Rangers.

But again, I got my doubts, which make my head spinning. Yes or no? Seriously, it just didn’t feels right. So I got no choice but to cast down as the actual Red or so-called Tyranno Ranger myself. Besides, its not like everytime Jason summoned for the Dragon power! Hahahaha! Other than that, I feel light and much more comfortable without it. But still, I’m officially the Red Dragon Ranger as deemed fit! =D

AFA is basically anything goes Japanese culture. From cosplay to pop culture, music, movie, entertainment, comics, toys, digital content, all of the above! The name says it all, with some of Japan’s top brand names and well-known anime titles. Spanning 3 halls straight! From one booth after another and another like a common mega sale of the year. There’s even a concert-related merchandise. And speaking of concert, yes, there’s even a competition for those who love to sing and dance on stage. And for those who are a big fan of Gundam Seed or any other similar series that features giant robots or mecha in the Japanese version, this is the event just right for you to pop your eyes upon. It will be held at the usual place at Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre Halls from 11 – 13 Nov 2011. I will attend for only 1 day, which is yesterday. I was off on the 13th, but I got other plans. At least I’ve managed to  attend for this year’s AFA to fulfill the fun and excitement for the crowd as a Power Ranger.

Photos taken by Aizul, here’s what we got as the best photos from the event. 4 Power Rangers from different series unites and with a Kamen Rider to back them up. Not only that, each one of us even got to be the all-too famous Mr Troll and troll around as you went trollolol!! HAHAHA! One of our guys had make a huge face out of it by using cardboard, and the hilarious from it just never ends! =D

The day has been a blast! From epic start to epic end. Hope my members who also attend on the last day enjoy themselves. I’m glad that I managed to attend this year’s AFA, and hope can attend for next year’s too. When comes to cosplay, I admit, I can be very serious into it! Hahahaha! The more it is, the more thrill it can be! ^^
