24 March 2011 – In the blink of an eye, I turned 27. So yesterday the 24th was a Happy Birthday to me!!!! =) As I expected, my Facebook wall will be spammed with tons of birthday wishes from friends and loved ones. Continuously until the end of 24hrs where my birthday will end.

The day spend was worth it all. Truly remarkable! I get to spend some quality time with two of my friends who are planning to watch one of the current movie that just hit here by storm. Sucker Punch! So in turn, they decided to plan this as my birthday outing.

My friends were right about the movie. It really kick-ass! Sucker Punch, which stars Emily Browning, Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone, Vanessa Hudges and Jamie Chung, is remarkably an epic action fantasy that takes you into the vivid imagination of a young girl (Emily Browning) whose dream world provides the ultimate escape from her darker reality. Its almost like, having to rely on those dreams, and which seems to be her only resort in finding an escape route. An alternative reality as a coping strategy. To escape from those that has been tormenting her. Its all started upon listening to a certain music, which enables her to listen directly. Listen to it with her heart. Open her mind to what’s beyond. And before she know it, she was somewhere. To a place where she will have to fight to face her darkest fears…..

Here’s the premise, been quoted from Wikipedia:

Set in the 1950s, Babydoll (Emily Browning), who was sent to a mental institution in Brattleboro, Vermont by her step-father, has only her dreams and vivid imagination to provide an escape from her dark reality. Unrestrained by the boundaries of time and place, she is free to go where her mind takes her, blurring the lines between what’s real and what is imaginary.

Although she has been locked away, Babydoll has not lost her will to survive. Determined to fight for her freedom, she urges four other young girls – the outspoken Rocket (Jena Malone), the street-smart Blondie (Vanessa Hudgens), the fiercely loyal Amber (Jamie Chung), and the reluctant Sweet Pea (Abbie Cornish) — to band together and try to escape from their captors, Blue (Oscar Isaac), Madam Gorski (Carla Gugino) and the High Roller (Jon Hamm).

Led by Babydoll, the girls engage in fantastical warfare against everything from samurai to serpents, with a virtual arsenal at their disposal. Together, they must decide what they are willing to sacrifice in order to stay alive. But with the help of The Wise Man (Scott Glenn), their journey — if they succeed — will set them free.

So literally, its an Alice in Wonderland packed with machine guns. Fearsome babes equipped with superior moves and stunts, packed with loads of armory. Kick-ass attitude, explosives from every edge of an angle that will blown you breathless! A movie worth dying for! You guys were right about the movie. Sucker Punch does truly packs a punch and it does blown my mind seeing each ground-breaking stunts. I just couldn’t take my eyes away from it! Extremely on the edge of your seat till you could even feel the tremors beneath your seat! I’ll rate this 5/5!

After the movie ends, we had dinner at Long John Sliver, before we spend the rest of the evening relaxing at VivoCity’s Skypark. A favourite place among many to spend their quality time among friends and loved ones. The sight of Sentosa across the island suddenly intrigues us. So we decided, at this very last min, to take a look around there. All we have to do is to walk across the Sentosa Boardwalk in order to get there. Now easy accessible by foot, especially for those who wanna catch some sightseeing while walking towards Sentosa.

Our aim there now, was to take a look at Universal Studios Singapore itself from the outside. I planning to have fun here someday. So at the present moment, I just have to be familiarize with the surroundings from outside its entry gate. Not to mention, the eye-catching Universal Studios famous rotating globe. Does brings back memories during a family trip at Universal Studios Hollywood many years ago. Nostalgia for me…… =)

We spend some few hours there exploring the place before we called it a night. The whole day on my special day has been worth fulfilling! Thank you guys, for bringing up this movie outing and that last min thingy to Universal Studios as part of my birthday outing. Its worth every quality hour spend. And those wonderful gifts that you had brought for me. Its fortunate that my side let me off yesterday. These days I had been working like hell, ever since I was place in this temporary position. Too much of it had even caused me to nearly forgotten about my birthday! But thanks to my colleague, who had reminded me. Thought that I never be able to fulfill for that day, since we are told not to take any leave for the moment. But luckily, we are given off for that day. Good for me, especially =)

So here are some of the best photos taken! =)

And once again, to all my friends and loved ones who had spammed my Facebook wall with tons of countless amount of birthday wishes. Really appreciated it lots!!! THANK YOU!!! =)
