Captain’s log                              Stardate: 64581.1 (Jan 30th, 2011)

Its been a pouring cats and dogs since Wednesday. Guess its time of the season again, and the previous one just ended a week ago. My room felt cold, even when I did not used the fan. So cold that I feel like as though I’m living inside an igloo! This monsoon seem to held back many of us to stay comfy at our comfort zone. Dead tired, that’s for sure. Let alone been sting by the Lazy Bug. Some would feel like sleeping once again, even after hours of sleep since the night before. Cuddle under those blanket, and to heavenly dream away……

Initially thought of exploring a place today. But this cold, dark and dreary day make me change my mind. I wouldn’t want to ended up getting soak, as I got this feeling that the rain would still last even when I’m there. It has been raining since early morning – since 6plus!! It has been a downpour…then drizzling….then downpour again. Now, its drizzling. From above, came a thunder. Dark clouds are rolling in like the angry waves, and the wind is never weary. Another downpour might be hitting down soon…..

I stop blogging and stared at the rain. Memories started flooding in, like the dark clouds rolling across the gray sky. It reminds me of the times that are special. Makes me think of her again. In days like this, I knew she was still in bed. Adorably cuddle under those blanket, sleeping away the hours. She was like as if she can sleep on forever! That’s why sometimes I love to call her Sleeping Beauty. Her eyes will open for a minute, and she will closes them again. Too comfy to get up. Still feel drifted away. And when she does, she will return back to her comfort zone in a few hours time. That’s if, she got nothing else to do after checking her Facebook. My dear Siti….you are just so adorable……..=)

I return blogging. On my desk were a plate of chocolate biscuits and a steaming cup of my favourite Nescafe. Nothing beats the odd when you have those to relax the mind while listening to the rain as you continue to type across the keyboard….

To My Dearest…..

To my dearest Siti Rohani….

The joy of meeting you has always been wonderful. I’m glad I did what I could to make you feel happy. Each hour spend its like a sunny dawn, when you are around.

How can I forget that? I enjoy every second, every minute, every hour with you. But the day can’t go on forever. Even if I wish it was. Time cannot be stop, cause it has to end. But there will always be another day, where we will start all over again….

I know this may not be the right time for you. I understand that you still wants to enjoy life. Everybody wants to enjoy life. Well, enjoy life as it is. You are still young, full of spirit and energy. You are at your own freedom. Something which I can’t stop you from doing so. Its you. Who you are. And I can’t force you too, to be mine as how I had confessed.

But at least I confessed. To tell you how much I love you and care for you. I’m only trying to make you understand how I feel about you. Its been held inside me for all this time and that night its where I will pour out my feelings to you. The right time. I just couldn’t hold it any longer. I just have to say it out! That’s the only way to make me feel better.

Its ok if this is not the right time for you. I understand. I’m alright… Like I told you, I won’t force. I have no right to force you. Let alone hating to force you. I’m not like those type. You have a choice. But I always hope……you can be mine. If only….. Its a matter of time…

Sure you have many admirers in line. But I don’t care what they say when they finds out. People can say what they want. And I have no right to stop them too. Cause its you….who will choose….Not me, not them….

But at least I can still spend my time with you….as long as you are available to spend time with me. The laughter, how we tease one another…..I will cherish that in my heart. Every bit of it. Its worth every count, for me to remember as a memorable treasure…..

Love you…

The first SPI spooky walk for this new year 2011 will be at this oasis of tranquility and natural wonder known as Labrador Nature Reserve. Or some would simply called it as Labrador Park. Its also where it was once a British base or fort during WWII, and many of their historical relics, like the underground bunkers were still seen today. As in what remains which dates back to the 19th century. It also played a significant role in the history of Singapore.

Alas, as based on history, the fort and those big guns did not see much action during the war. The Japanese arrived in Singapore from the Northern coast, instead of the Southern coast which the British expected. A surprising “backstab!” None of their ships passed through the area at all. As a result, much of the equipment at the fort was put to waste.

I personally have explore this place before with one of the SPI Agents as part of my book of adventures somewhere early Feb last year. Its because of its historical grounds that intrigues me. But before coming here, I had consult a friend of mine who was an historian, and also happened to be a member of SPI to seek any valuable info that could help me during my exploration. When comes to history, he’s the best person and closest that we happened to know of to get in touch with. Thanks John! =)

There’s also been said that Labrador Park was haunted. There’s this article I’ve read that a group of 9 ITE students were somehow been possessed by unknown spirits and suddenly create a din at the park. This one happens 2 years ago, around 8pm. The students were there for a course which was been conducted at Labrador Park chalet-style hotel. Apparently, some of the students decided to go for a walk in the park. Perhaps they were bored after the course. Then an hour plus later, all hell broke loose from those students. They created such a din and acting strangely, like jumping on tables and screaming their lungs out. Worse, one of the students were seen been strangled by unknown forces in an attempt to help a fellow classmate who was been possessed. Both police and ambulances were activate to the scene, and the place was sealed off for investigation.

This article was also been posted inside our SPI forum. Update source later revealed that those students were been possessed when they passed by this narrow four-sided structure which ends with a pyramid at its tip. Known as the obelisk, and its located at the southern-eastern part of the park. Close to the shores. Heard from hearsay, that something or someone is living within that obelisk. Baffled? Some even claimed to have spotted apparitions standing close to this intimidating structure when they passed by that area at night. Again. Hard to believe? Was it in anyway related to the ghostly incident that occurs back in 2009? You’ll be the judge.

And so, yesterday afternoon (Sat, Jan 22th), we all gathered at Harbour Front Bus Terminal at 1730hrs, where we all will take a bus that takes us directly to the place. Been back here again really springs up that excitement in me. I can already smell that tranquility from the park even before we embarked from the bus =D

Before the event starts, I had asked our SPI member who was the organizer for this event, as to whether it is ok for me to share my side of the story about the obelisk. Since I had gathered as much info as I can from the internet and some from our historian friend, why not play my part and describe to the participants as to what I know? It will be a waste if I didn’t. And as to what I was told, this obelisk was known to be the prominent one. Not only from those hearsay, but as to how and why it was been erected there. And was it really a “marking” as to what many had describe. And the reason being, which till now, was a mystery…

Perched high ontop of the labrador cliff stood another prominent ancient relic which is believed to be a watch tower for the British. It was been describe that the cliff’s high vantage point led the British to identify it as defensive site to protect the entrance to the harbours of Singapore. At first we thought there is no way we could get up there. Also, the last time when I and my friend were here, I too thought of exploring that watchtower by climbing up the steep cliff. However my friend doesn’t want to, but allowed me to proceed while she wait at the bottom of the cliff. But I change my mind after that. Not only because of the steep look. But I wouldn’t dared explore up there alone while leaving my friend down there sitting ducks.

But not until yesterday, where one of our members happened to discover a possible trail that could led us there. Still steep. But after much struggle and effort, two members including myself who braves ourselves to get up there finally managed to ascend the steep hill. Victory!!! Yes!! Finally!! The rest of the group will wait for us at the bottom of the cliff while we conduct a quick discovery of this ancient ground. This is too thrilling!

Based on our observations, some of the rooms here were believed to be the armory and a radio storage. Or perhaps maintenance, as we notice that each shelves were labeled “Antennae”, “Electrical cables”, “Headsets,” etc. While the other, had the doors and windows designed to be heavy duty. Cause based on our experience serving in the police, as well as in the army, normally armory had this type of designed. Which led us to believe that this could be where the British store their ammunition.

There’s another tower there too. But because of the steps been extremely corrode over the years, we decided not to explore the levels. Also, some of the steps were close to being as thin as paper. One step, and that’s it!

Here’s the rest of the photos taken, which stretch till nightfalls where we explore the remains of the old fort.

The end of the event was filled with endless laughter and jokes while having dinner at MacDonalds. Another successful event conducted by SPI, and we sure be looking forward for more! Stay tune! =)

When The Days Are A Gloom…..

Captain’s log                         Stardate:64538.2 (Jan 14th, 2011)

From the start of the new year, it has been a cold and dull days. The sky raining cats and dogs makes the days more sleepier, let alone lazier. Days like this really makes you hate to get up from your comfort zone and be struck by torments of work in the office. All you care about is the tranquility that lies in your comfort zone while listening to the heavy rain tapping against the glass window. Overlooking the gray sky, staring at the clouds as they tears down on the land.

For me, I normally have a cup of coffee in hand, while watching the clouds rolled over like a stormy seas. That’s if, when I’m at home of course. It gives me the sense of peace, relaxation, calmness, other than tranquility. Away from city life. Many would savor the thought of flying back to dreamland. But there will be those like me that wouldn’t want to waste those remaining precious hours sleeping back when you know that you have spend that previous half a day sleeping before you woke up. And what comes next will be boredom. The killer mood that really kills! Unless you have agreed or schedule to go out and meet some friends or out for an outing. But even when I say that, some would be too lazy to step out from their comfort zone. Because the sky was in tears, and you just feel too relax and comfortable to ignore that. Well, its home sweet home then……

Staring at the gray sky does had her floating in my mind. Wherever you are……I really miss you dear… So much! The thought of you coming back to my mind…..felt like as though I’m really drifting towards you. Really miss the time spend. Your touch. Your teasing. That adorable smile and that cute laugh of yours. It really melts my heart seeing those, knowing that I had make your day to be jovial and carefree. I may not know if you feel the same way as to what I feel about you. But deep down, I do, and still care. With all my heart!

Rain comes, rain go away. Day after day. Cold days like this sure does comes good when you are at home with a cup of coffee in hand =)

What Comes Around…..

The time now is 0240hrs, from the moment I start typing this down. Still awake, and you can say that I was suffering from insomnia. Well, I sleep late anyway at most, since I’m not working the following day. Which happens to be today. At the same time, listen to some smooth jazz music while typing this down. I’m not much used to listen to such. But tonight, decided to have some tranquility running in my mind, and jazz seems like the obvious choice to get the blood running while I type my senses here.

The day before, upon returning home in the morning, I immediately collapsed onto the bed. That night shift two days ago was hell indeed! Sure, we do get this at most. But when the time comes where you feel you are reaching beyond your limits and suddenly felt lethargy, that’s where you come to a conclusion where you can say that this is the worst night you ever had. Talk about tons of disputes, clashes, conducting screening after screening……all seems endless. Indeed, like been plunge down to a point of no return. Those recent cases, really gives us the boiling edge of non-stop entertainment.

Then there’s the blooded mess. Night seem to fall onto itself when this situation rings out from the bushes. Like that fantasy tale where the clouds will fall right out of the sky. Leaving you breathless and sometimes having that sense of doubts, as to what comes next after this? Especially when been posted to such a district that is most happening when night falls. Hard to say the least, but you can sure be expecting more of these when you are well familiar about the place.

And sometimes, in such scenarios really reminds me of the movie RoboCop. I don’t know how that get into my mind, but the sector where I’m in is not some dystopian town where even the rats dared not crawl out of the sewers and hunting for food. But somehow or rather, it kind of reminds me. The way I picture it, but its certainly not some scary place where is on the verge of unchecked crime. Its thrilling on the other hand, as in most cases, where we will seek out with our lights on and sometimes without it.

Nevertheless, we still have to play our part. There’s no difference than what we have to do. Likewise, deal it straight or make it so. Most importantly, is to be sure you return home in one piece.
