Lost In The Book….

Captain’s log                              Stardate: 62679.9 (Mar 05, 2009)

Ever since one of the trekkies from our local Star Trek fansite, named Richard Gunawan had given me six of his Star Trek giveaway novels, I find myself couldn’t stopped reading them. The fact is, six of these books were the many of the greatest stories ever written. It has everything that Star Trek fans ever wanted to capture, as we joined in the adventures from page to page. I was currently reading the third out of the 6 books, and was totally engrossed into it. Too engrossed that I was now somewhere at the center page of the book.

Among this favourites, one of them that really captures me was the second book that I’ve completed reading it just last week. Known as “Dark Mirror” as one hundred years ago, based on the summary given, four crew members of the U.S.S Enterprise, which was commanded by Capt. James T Kirk, crossed the dimensional barrier and found a mirror image of their own universe. But was been populated by nightmare duplicares of their shipmates. Barely able to escape with their lives, they returned, thankful that the accident which had brought them there could not be duplicated – or so they thought.

But now the scientists of that empire have found a doorway into our universe. Their plan: to destroy from within, to replace one of our starships with one of theirs. Their victims: the crew of the U.S.S Enterprise D, commanded by Capt Jean Luc Picard, and who now find themselves engaged in combat against the most savage enemies they have ever encountered…themselves.

It does catches me into a grim concentration as I digested every word by every paragraph by every page. The story unfold is hardening, and does carried the knot that feels tight to the stomach.

Sure, I do read other sci-fiction novels as well, since I’m so CRAZZYYYY into sci-fiction. But when one comes to something than just collecting the toys, other merchandise, even had the uniform been tailored, that particular individual still goes after the book. One that is to find out, one that is held with much curious, as to what the story and character is like, that is not related to the actual one that was been showned on TV and on the big screen. This is what many of us would refer to as, the canon and the non-cannon! =D

Before the books were given, I had few sets of other Star Trek novels which I had brought few years ago. A few thick ones, and still got a long way to go…=)

Ghost stories? If that’s what you are wondering after noticing from my previous log entry that I’m also the heady trill into paranormal, then you are absolutely correct!

This set of books were given from Trekkie Richard. Thanks dude! =)
